ICAI Postpones Practical Training Due To COVID-19 Pandemic According to the ICAI or Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, candidates who are expected to start their Practical Training on or before April 30th, 2020 to appear in November, 2022 Final exams, are now permitted to begin their training on or before May 31, 2020 in order to remove the difficulty caused to students due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The Institute, which is the countrys overseeing professional body for chartered accountant education, said this was done as a one-time measure because of the countrys lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to eliminate the difficulty caused to students who are expected to begin their practical training on or before 30 April 2020 to appear in November 2022 Final examinations but are unable to begin their practical training within the defined date on the basis of COVID-19, the competent authority has agreed to relax the aforementioned condition as a one-time step as defined in COVID-19 Students who are expected to begin their Practical Training on or before 30 April 2020 but are unable to start their Practical Training due to COVID-19 lockdown in the county as a one-time measure are allowed to begin their Practical Training on or before 31 May 2020 and are instead allowed to participate in their final examination scheduled for November 2022. Before this, ICAI has postponed the CA review scheduled to take place in May on March 28. The tests are now to take place in June-July. ... In view of the current spurt of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interests of the well-being of students, the Chartered Accountant exams initially scheduled for May 2 to May 18 have been rescheduled and those exams will now take place from June 19 to July 4, the CA exam regulator said in a notification.
