Entrance examinations, including JNU, UGC NET, PhD, NEET, TTE postponed

The Human Resource Development Ministry has agreed to postpone entrance tests, including JNU, UGC, NET and IGNOU PhD, and many others, with the lockdown in mind. Union Minister said: "This includes admission exams of Jawaharlal Nehru University UGC NET, IGNOU PhD, ICAR test, NCHM-G and course of management." The deadline for all these exams was extended by one month.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development also instructed the CBSE, NIOS, and NTA to plan a revised review schedule. Along with this, autonomous bodies and the NCERT have been asked to plan an alternate academic calendar. The Ministry has taken this measure so that all students can conveniently and accessibly apply for these exams.In view of the risk of coronavirus infection, the Central government has also decided to postpone the NEET examinations. Admission cards were to be issued but were not issued for the NEET exams. The Ministry has now issued a notice to postpone the exams."After the nationwide lockdown has been enforced, this form of examination can no longer be performed, "a senior official said. The JEE Main exams were also postponed.The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended without any late fee the final date for submission of the form for the term-end review to be held on April 30th, 2020.

Students can apply the forms for the June TEE exam on the official IGNOU website. The deadline for sending assignments was also extended to 30 April. A senior ministry official said: "In compliance with the order issued on 24 March by the Ministry of Home Affairs, all offices of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and its autonomous and subordinate institutions will remain closed for three weeks."
