Karnataka CET exams Postponed, PG, Diploma Entrances Postponed

The Government of Karnataka will conduct the statewide Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) on July 30 and 31. Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr. CN Ashwathnarayan said the state government should take all precautionary steps in the light of the COVID-19 situation in conducting the CET as it did during the SSLC exams that took place a few weeks ago.

The government also decided to postpone the PG-CET and Diploma-CET exams, as the final year exams for these students are still to be held. The PG-CET and Diploma-CET exams were due to take place on 8-9 August and 9 August, respectively.

The fresh dates will be decided after the PG and Diploma course final year exams are completed, Dr Ashwathnarayan added. A total of 1,94,356 students will write the CET exams at 120 places in 497 centres across the state. In Bengaluru City, 40,200 students will write CET in 83 centres. Of the total number of students, there are 30 foreign students.
